Bradford Arms moved clear at the summit of the Telegraph & Argus League after a hard-earned victory over nearest rivals Thornbury Youth CC.

This top-of-the-table clash produced some excellent football on one of the worst days of the season so far.

After 20 minutes, Craig Thomas put the hosts in front with a well-taken goal, and Arms doubled their lead before the break when Sohail Ahmed scored from close range.

The visitors could not find a way past the hosts' resolute defence before the interval and then were hit by a third goal just after the restart when Ryan Metcalfe netted for the leaders.

This acted as a wake-up call to Youth, and they produced some excellent attacking football, being rewarded when Abdul Quayum scored.

The visitors were really in command at this stage and it was no surprise when they scored a second with a penalty through Sajad Ali.

In the last five minutes, Peter Henson calmed the leaders with a goal but Arms knew that if the visitors had produced their second-half display earlier it could have been a different result.

In the All Nations v Bradford All Stars match, the home side got off to a flying start and were three goals in front in the first 20 minutes.

Paul Andrews pulled a goal back for the visitors two minutes before the break to give them some hope and collected his second within three minutes of the restart.

It was no surprise when, after good approach work by Yasser Rehman, Gulfraz Satti headed the equaliser.

Both teams tried to force the winning goal but that honour fell to All Stars skipper Hasnan Naveed in the last minute.

Visitors TVR United moved in front against Abundant Life after ten minutes when Mohammed Ishmaeel scored from just inside the penalty area.

Both teams had chances but an Abdul Kashim header in the 48th minute doubled the visitors' lead.

The hosts pressurised the visitors' goal and, in the 80th minute, were rewarded with a goal, but they still had to go through a nervous final ten minutes.
