A charity football match between West Riding County Amateur side Steeton and a Burnley XI raised £1,423.51 for the Britsh Heart Foundation.

The game, played in memory of staunch Burnley fan Michael Emsley, was a huge success, with Steeton running out 4-3 winners.

Steeton manager Roy Mason was delighted with the the money raised and said: “We have had a lot of positive comments since and interest in our club has intensified.

“But the most important thing was that we raised a decent amount for the nominated charity of Michael’s family, the British Heart Foundation.”
