Local boys Dave Morgan and Graham Clifford are hoping to increase the Bradford contingent at Dennyfield following the departure of many of their South Yorkshire players.

Morgan took over from Sheffield-based Billy Fox and asked under-19s manager Clifford to become his assistant while remaining in charge of the club’s youth team.

Clifford said: “There is a good atmosphere at Thack-ley at the moment and that is apparent when the clubhouse is still bustling an hour after the game.

“No disrespect to Billy or the players he brought in, they were all very good, but they had to shoot off soon after the final whistle.

“With a journey back like they faced you could understand that.

“The players we have brought in like Stuart Waite, Sean Clifford, Matt Morgan, Luke Hudson and even Sean Airey from Silsden are all from the area and we hope to sign a few more.

“That helps the supporters identify with the club and makes the players accessible in the clubhouse for a chat after the game.

“We think that is very important for the club as a whole and when the bar is busy the pennies are coming in to help us grow.”

“I think the camaraderie spreads throughout the club - from the players battling away to the supporters - and it generates a great atmosphere around the place.

"There are more functions being booked at the clubhouse and I think is because people are enjoying themselves at the place once again.”
