Farsley Celtic have gained nine points from their last three Blue Square North games but they would dearly love to add to that on Saturday.

Despite their recent form and better-than-average start to the season, they remain at the foot of the table. That is down to their ten-point penalty for entering administration in the close season.

They are poised to push for a victory this weekend that could have a huge impact on their campaign. The Celts' victory at Redditch United last Saturday clawed them to within a point of the Midlands outfit.

A win over Vauxhall Motors would take them level on points with their opponents, who go into this weekend fourth from bottom.

With manager Neil Parsley missing his second consecutive game due to a family holiday, his lieutenants Mark Jackson and Simeon Bambrook are in charge of their second game.

Jackson said: "This is a must-win game for us at home against a team close to us in the table.

"They don’t come any bigger - it doesn’t matter which league you are in - but we couldn’t go into it in any better shape. Confidence here is on a high, and last week was an example of that.

"We went a goal down and, given our position and the fact that we hadn’t played for a fortnight, there could have been nerves from the players. But the lads turned it the other way and we were in control before half-time."
