Eccleshill United have parted company with boss Steve Watson ahead of their trip to Bottesford Town in the second round of the Wilkinson Sword Trophy tomorrow night.

The Eagles will be under the guidance of senior players Andy Howland and Chris Bates after Watson left his position following Saturday’s 6-0 home defeat to Staveley MW in the Kool Sport NCL Division One.

Eccleshill spokesman Mark Holstead said: “It was a mutual decision to have a parting of the ways.

“It hasn’t really worked out but we wish Steve all the best for the future and expect him to be back in the game very soon.

“Myself and youth coach Adrian Benson have done the necessary ringing round to make sure we have tomorrow’s squad but it will be Andy and Chris who will be in charge.

“They have the respect of the players and we believe it is a good move on our part to get them to tide us over.”

Brighouse Town host Tadcaster Albion in the same competition.

Guiseley – who have been drawn at home to UniBond Division One Bamber Bridge in the FA Cup second qualifying round – entertain Nantwich Town in the UniBond Premier tomorrow night.
