The crowd of almost 2,000 Leeds fans who made their way to Hereford on Tuesday were in no mood to make allowances for another dismal performance and neither was manager Simon Grayson.

He pulled no punches in his assessment of Leeds’ 2-0 defeat by a relegation- threatened side, weakened by injuries, admitting his team’s display was “unacceptable”.

He refused to criticise individual players publicly but said: “The players should be hurting. We didn’t play with quality and our decision-making was poor.

“We’ve had words and hopefully they will use that as inspiration. If they don’t, some of them might not play for the club again.”

Grayson is already making inroads into the loan market and is hoping to bring in at least two new players before Saturday’s game against Cheltenham.

He needs a defender because Carl Dickinson is heading back to Stoke after his loan spell.
