Guiseley battled for a hard-earned point at Frickley Athletic in the UniBond Premier as all the goals in their 2-2 draw came in the first half.

They led 2-0 by the 11th minute after getting off to a storming start. Simeon Bambrook lashed a shot home after a head down by James Hanson to open the scoring and Hanson added the second from a Dave Merris assist.

A hefty deflection off Frickley’s Chris White saw the home side halve the deficit before Lee Morris struck three minutes before the break.

In the Northern Counties East Premier, basement outfit Eccleshill United registered their second victory of the season when they beat visitors Parkgate 3-2.

Marcus Edwards opened the scoring and Andy Howland put them back in front after the break.

After being pegged back for a second time by Daniel Payne, Lee Cornforth netted a late winner for the Eagles.

Farsley Celtic crashed out of the West Riding County Cup after suffering a 4-2 defeat in the quarter-finals at Ossett Albion. Danny Forrest and Jake Speight had given Farsley a 2-1 lead at the break but they ran out of steam in the second half.

Bradford Park Avenue face local rivals Brighouse Town in the West Riding County Cup quarter-finals tonight at Horsfall Stadium.

Avenue will be in fine spirits after their 6-4 victory over Ashton on Monday.
