Silsden head along the M62 corridor on Saturday to face struggling St Helens Town in the Vodkat League Premier Division and they could be without talismanic goalkeeper Martin Foulger.

After a superb win over higher-ranked opponents in the West Riding County Cup on Wednesday, the Cobbydalers will have to stay focused.

They beat UniBond League outfit Ossett Albion in midweek and put in a resilient display.

Silsden secretary and spokesman Jim Rosser said: “It was a good team effort because we didn’t have it all our own way by a long chalk. After that we have a banana skin because St Helens are bottom of the table.

“Martin (Foulger) had to come off late on against Ossett but he made six or seven outstanding saves in the game.

“I don’t think he will make it on Saturday and, after the blinder he played, that will be a massive loss.”
