The Cobbydalers progressed to the third round of the West Riding County Cup with a victory over UniBond Division One North Ossett Albion at Cougar Park tonight.
Club captain and man of the moment Martin Bland headed Silsden into the lead in the 19th minute from an Andy King corner, then later saw a header cleared off the line by the visitors’ defence.
Albion should have made more of their host of half- chances and they were made to pay for their profligacy.
Harry Thompson began a break down the left flank, Lee Reilly provided the cross and Danny McNulty, on as a second-half substitute, rifled in Silsden’s second.
