Moncur back for second loan spell

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: TJ Moncur spent two months at City last season TJ Moncur spent two months at City last season

Stuart McCall has moved to strengthen his squad by bringing young defender TJ Moncur back to City from Fulham.

The rookie full back or centre half spent two months on loan at Valley Parade last season and impressed McCall during his stay.

Moncur signed a new one-year deal at Craven Cottage in June, partly on the strength of his performances with City.

But Fulham have allowed him to return again on loan, City signing him initially until January 3 with the option of then making the deal permanent.

Moncur has been brought in chiefly as a back-up for Paul Arnison at right back, the one area where there was no cover.

Great double bonus today then. Boulding Snr should make the subs bench and TJ Moncur back with us. I reckon the squad is complete for now. Good to know that we have funds for the loan market should we get injuries too. Without doubt this is our strongest squad since the heady days of the premiership. I feel very confident that we will get an automatic promotion place next May time and i would take 3rd if it means getting out of League 2. Anything better than that is a bonus. So roll on tomorrow and lets hope for a winning start to a new era. My prediction for tomorrow is 1-0 to City. Scorer Big Baz, he has been scoring well in friendlies so i think his confidence is high and he just might carry that form into the Notts County game. CTID Good luck SM and everyone connected with the club for this season.

Great news and will replace Arnison, the one position I have been very, very concerned about (in pre-season).

Arnison will come good fatbloke, but we have no need to worry as we now have adequate cover just in case he doesn't. He hasn't gone from rock hard, ball playing fullback to poor player picking up a wage in under half a season. I want it to be tomorrow now.

I would only be happier if we could get someone as good as TJ on the left. Heckie isn't bad, but he is probably our weakest link. In O'Brien, we have a young lad with a lot of potential. I just wish we had a recognised quality left-back as extra cover.

Other than that, it has to be the strongest (and most exciting) group of players for years. Roll on 3pm tomorrow.

We are going up, say we are going up!!!

DonHutchinsAfro, in the 3 pre-season games I have seen and the reports in Scotland he has always been poor. I hope he can come good and if given the chance tomorrow I hope he can take it.

He hasn't gone from rock hard, ball playing fullback to poor player picking up a wage in under half a season.!!!!!

I have never seen him play apart from in Claret & Amber he as yet impressed but been very poor.. Are you referring above to him at previous clubs??

However I am very please with TJ, very very quick and a great ball player.

great signing on loan and let us hope he progresses well and we can exercise the option to sign him:however as he is contracted at Fulham we may have to pay a fee for him. My understanding is that he becomes a free agent again on 31 JANUARY if Fulham do not offer him terms again so we may get him for free at that time.

As regards SENSIBLE-- he is just biding his time to the first defeat -- he will jump in with the usual "told you so? waste of money? and all the rest of the carp !!

however my information is he has just got a proper job after being sacked from City's ticket office last September/October and does not now have as much free computer times as before! Additionally he has been tracked down and warned as to the consequences of his comments about fraud etc etc which he repeatedly alleged on this forum.

I think it's more likely he's been to the shops this morning with his 'minder' and is waiting until his mobility scooter is fully charged again before he plugs his computer in!

Incidentally I was at the Gaypharm on wednesday to see a 'full strength' Arsenal beat Town. Luke Beckett looked cumbersome and slow and was taken off at half time (along with most of the team in fairness) so i'm glad we didn't sign him.

TJ is a excellent prospect, hopefully McCall will snap him up. Lets face it bit of youth will be good and Arnison won't have to many seasons ahead of him. If we achieve back to back promtions he will have to be one of a number of players that goes if we are to compete in the championship.

So now that it appears McCall has done wheeling and dealing who do people think is the strongest team.

GK- Evans
Defence - arnison, hecks, clarke and Lee??
mid- colbeck, brandon, mclaren,daley
Forwards - thorne and boulding.

Leaves a good bench as well with bower, tj, nix, topp, conlon to name but a few. Just shows how good a squad he's put together this season.

I have seen him play for carlisle on a three occasions fatbloke, and he was like a stormtrooper on a bad day. Kicked anything and everything, but did it so as not to get booked, or sent off. He tackles like he means it, and that is one quality required from FB. Hopefully he will settle down, but if not we have a built in replacement now, and he has pace too which is always handy.

DonHutchinsAfro, I can only judge him from what I have seen in the City shirt and so far been very unimpressed. As things stand I would much rather have TJ starting tomorrow. I don't think that will happen and will back Arnison all the way.
However my opinion is McCall signed him on the strength of Gregg Abbott, now he has had chance to see 1st hand what I have seen.
He was made to look stupid against, Guisley, Farsley and Oldham. I was very worried about the full back positions and very very happy TJ has signed.
We will have to agree to disagree on this one and hopefully Arnison will soon make me agree with you!!

Arnison has not been on his own in the pre-season games I have seen O'Brien has been as bad. Hopefully Heckingbottom can re-discover hios old form and not that of last year.

Can't wait for tomorrow. Just hope it isn't going to be an anti-climx.We've had 6 years of disappointments so its time to buck that trend!
Lets judge Arnison on the first 3 or 4 games before we judge him.
And as far as that sensible bloke is concerned.Lets just all ignore him.I'm not going to mention him again. He loves the notority.
Lets turn VP into a fortress that teams are gonna hate to come to! Fans and players stand shoulder to shoulder AND PREPARE FOR GLORY!!!
