McCall delighted to sign Boulding brothers

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Michael and Roy Boulding with Stuart McCall in Scotland Michael and Roy Boulding with Stuart McCall in Scotland

Michael Boulding and his brother Rory tonight signed for City.

Both strikers penned two-year deals at the club’s Scottish training base in St Andrew’s.

They had travelled up by train to meet their new team-mates this afternoon in Edinburgh, where the squad were enjoying a “bonding” session at an indoor assault course.

Delighted City boss Stuart McCall said: “Michael was our first choice as a striker because he offers something different to what we’ve already got.

“He’s someone who can get in behind the defence with a bit of pace.

“I’m also pleased to have Rory on board. He’s on exactly the same contract as Luke Medley was on and will be there to push the main strikers.

“With the other lads we’ve already got, hopefully we are now going to have enough firepower to be up there challenging.”

I'm pleased Michael's signed up but not sure about his brother. Bit odd all round. But I agree with Lost In Space in that if he scores a hatful for us and his little bro chips in with a few then we should be having a season without sweaty palms at xmas!

I'm getting all excited about the season. Not sure whose name to get on the back of my shirt now we've got some corking players in.

Ah well, just have to buy 20 odd shirts!

Anyone seen my mate Sensible?

Great signing on the face of it but not too happy with the way he's conducted himself in the build up. Now it's time for him (& his brother) to pull on the claret & amber shirt & repay the faith of Stuart & Co....welcome aboard chaps!

I just hope that Mr and Mrs Boulding have come for the right reasons. It just goes to show all those city doubters that we mean buisness this season.
We can now judge the team and it`s management team on the results they bring next season. (not that I think they will they will fail us) Stu has now built HIS team and I think we will all agree in hindsight (which is a wonderful thing) we expected too much last season.
I just can`t wait to see all those supporters flood back wishing they had bought there £150 season tickets when we are flying high!!!
They could have brought there mates for nowt!!!

Bring it on!!!

That 9/1 on us to get promoted is looking a bit generous now!

There's always more than the newspapers and websites will have you believe. He's been assessing his options, weighing up what's best for him and fair play to him for keeping an eye out for his kid bro - shows a man who plays for the team if you ask me. I thought he'd signed for Cheltenham but probably got there, saw the ground, wondered where the stadium was then realised when they told him he was at the stadium, not the training ground that we were the (hate to use the word) sensible option.

Welcome on board lads, I'm so excited I think my foot could fall off!

It's been said before but this website is garbage to use. It constantly blocks you out, doesn't accept postings or duplicates them. Message to the T&A: GET IT SORTED! Back to the football - pleased with the signing but not the way he messed us about at the start. It's time for him to pull on the famous Claret & Amber shirt & repay Stuart & Co for the patience & faith we kept in him. Welcome aboard Michael (& Rory).Let's go for it & power our way out of this division. Hope those who didn't get a season ticket are now starting to realise the error of their ways!

I'm over the moon with this signing. We now look like a very good division one side nevermind div 2!! Pending injuries I can't see why we can't go for back to back promotions! Still think we may need 1 more central midfielder.wish we could have signed that perkins at rochdale. He covers every blade of grass! Just like mcgod himself!!!

Boulding snr yes, although I don't like the way that he has conducted himself in all of this.
Boulding jnr? Would Macca have signed him and only him?
I don't think so, in my eyes he is taking up space on the wage bill that could have been filled by a much better player.
Still.....who knows? perhaps Boulding jnr will surprise us all, I certainly hope so.

We are still lacking cover at right-back. What has happened to the triallist from Everton?

Personally, I think we need another right-back and a left-winger. Who will be playing left-wing this season? Daley played there last season, but this is clearly not his best position. I hope we don't move Colbeck across to accommodate Brandon on the right-wing.

I notice Bury have been given permission to speak to Michael Twiss. I preferred him to Gary Thompson and as he is a left-winger, would be a perfect signing for City.

Then all we need to do is sign up Rhys Evans and we will have a championship winning squad. Come on Macca, get Twiss, Evans and a right-back on board.
