STUDENTS across the North will go head-to-head at Park Avenue Cricket Ground in Bradford this weekend, for the chance to play at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground, whilst also having the chance international legend, Adil Rashid.

This opportunity comes as part of the EMAN Cup, a national inter-Madrassah cricket tournament supported by the ECB and is open to both boys and girls aged 8-11 from Madrassahs across the UK.

The tournament aims to empower young talents, foster teamwork, and ignite a passion for cricket amongst the younger audiences, with the first regional round set to commence on Saturday 27 April (today) in Bradford.

The format will see 12 teams from each region face each other for a chance to progress to the next stage, with the ultimate goal of reaching the National Finals Day on Sunday 12 May, where successful teams will have the unbelievable opportunity to battle it out at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

This fantastic initiative is firmly backed by the ECB and The Hundred, with participants being given the amazing opportunity to meet Northern Superchargers superstar and international bowler, Rashid, this Saturday.

The Bradford-born cricketer will be at Park Avenue Cricket Ground along with The Hundred trophy, to meet, support and inspire participants whilst also giving away Northern Superchargers merchandise to fans and spectators.

Rashid, spin bowler for the Northern Superchargers, commented: “It’s great to be able to support initiatives like the EMAN Cup and work with Faith Associates to inspire and encourage the next generation of cricket stars in my hometown of Bradford.

"The tournament brings together both boys and girls and gives them a platform to play side by side, enhance their skills and showcase their talents, much like The Hundred, so it makes perfect sense for us to be part of these community activities."

Local children, cricket enthusiasts, and families are invited to join in the excitement at Park Avenue Cricket Ground today from 10am to 4pm.

Those that are inspired by Rashid's appearance and want to see him and the Northern Superchargers perform at Headingley this summer can secure tickets now from as little as £16 for adults, under-16s just £5, and infants free (0-5 years). Fans can secure their tickets HERE.
