Yorkshire all-rounder Jordan Thompson has helped his MI Emirates team to the International League T20 title in the UAE.

Each team played 10 group games, Emirates finishing joint-top of the round-robin stage with six wins and four defeats.

All six sides in the tournament won at least four group games, in what was a closely-fought competition.

Thompson played twice for Emirates in the tournament, with the highlight seeing him thump 26 not out from just nine balls in a game against the Giants on February 8.

He also claimed the wicket of Dubai Capitals’ Olly Stone, an England international, two days later.

Emirates beat the Capitals by 45 runs in Saturday’s final to claim the trophy, former Yorkshire overseas signing Nicolas Pooran top-scoring for the champions with 57 not out.
