Thackley travel to Parkgate on Saturday looking for another victory that may end any lingering fears of being dragged into the bottom two.

Their victory over high-flying Glapwell was vital in their bid to preserve top-flight status as boss John Boyle acknowledged.

He said: "If we had lost last week the other results meant we would have been third bottom, just one place and one point away from trouble.

"I think we have taken the right approach by not hiding from the situation over the past few weeks.

"We have talked about being in a relegation battle and stressed the importance of needing points. It would have been easy for the players to bottle it but they have responded well."
