Tomorrow night's Amateur League Cup final at Cougar Park is a necessary evil for Silsden, who are tenants at the Keighley stadium, and a concerned man in the stands will be Paul Schofield.

The Cobbydalers' manager was left frustrated when his club's Vodkat League Division One fixture against Glossop North End was abandoned at half-time last Saturday and is desperate that this weekend's visit of Formby does not go the same way.

"We have been fortunate, as the weather has been fair all week and there have been no football or rugby games," said Schofield.

"But the Keighley Alliance Sunday Cup final is scheduled for tomorrow night, so I'll go down and have a look.

"It will kill two birds with one stone. I take in as many games as I can to see what local talent there is out there but I will also know what to expect when we come to the ground for our game on Saturday.

"Andy King has had a hamstring strain and we will see how he is on Saturday morning, Tom Applebee has returned to training after a bug and Chris Simpson is free from suspension but hasn't trained yet because he was away on holiday for a week.

"It is a case of looking at all three before making any definite decisions about the final 14 for this game."
