City reserves 3, Leicester reserves 0

For once Bradford City had the luxury of fielding the most experienced side in the Pontin's Holiday League Central tonight at the Coral Windows Stadium with T J Moncur, Alex Rhodes, Scott Phelan and David Brown all in the starting line-up, while the visitors only had one professional, Radostin Kishishev, who had featured in the Foxes' first team so far this season.

City also had 18-year old Coventry City apprentice Callum Burgess on trial in central defence, playing alongside Liam Smith.

Leicester had the better of the opening period with Ashley Chambers shooting just wide in the eight minute and he was unlucky again two minutes later forcing a finger-tip save from Ben Saynor.

On the quarter hour, Lee Cox broke through but his 20-yard effort went just wide.

Luke O'Brien ran through the centre of the park on 19 minutes but Brown was unable to control the ball as he turned towards Carl Pentney's goal.

In the 35th minute, Moncur tried to put Medley through but the ball overshot its target slightly and the City striker was unable to catch it before Pentney raced out from the goal-line to gather.

A minute later, Luke Morgan's fine run down the right almost helped put City in front when his cross was met by Brown, who raced into the area but his rasping shot ended up just wide of the upright.

The second half started with Leon Osborne and Luke Sharry replacing Moncur and Rhodes.

City were in front two minutes after the restart when Brown's cross from the right found Medley, who coolly slid the ball under Pentney.

Liam Smith doubled City's lead in the 67th minute when he rifled home a shot from the edge of the area which left Pentney grasping at thin air.

It wasn't long before the third came for City when, in the 71st minute, Brown's pass in the area to Medley brought off a reaction save from Pentney.

However, he could only parry the ball as far as Morgan, who ran in to rocket the ball into the back of the net.

In the 81st minute, Saynor brought off a point blank save to ensure he finished with a clean sheet.
