Guiseley face a very tough UniBond League Premier Division away fixture on Saturday as they look to cement their place in the play-off places.

But they do have an excellent addition to their squad for the trip to Fleetwood Town after signing Lee Crooks.

The former Bradford City midfielder was linked with Guiseley's Football Conference near-neighbours Farsley Celtic earlier in the month but has decided to join the Nethermoor men instead.

"We got him to sign on Wednesday evening and everyone at the club is delighted," said Guiseley manager Steve Kittrick.

"It is a full transfer. He has left Rochdale and says he is ready to commit himself to us."

"He will be available for Saturday and he is keen to come in and prove himself.

"He couldn't have come into a bigger game. Fleetwood can still win the league, so they don't come much tougher at this stage of the season."

The west coast club are eight points behind leaders Witton Albion but have three games in hand.

Guiseley took four points from a possible six over Easter and that took them into fifth spot - the last play-off place.

"Fleetwood will be up for it. They are on the back of beating the top side 3-0 on their own patch.

"We will have to apply ourselves, no doubt about it, but we have done well on our travels this season.

"We can go there with no fear, expecting something from the game. But if we don't get anything, it won't be the end of the world. It will be a good yardstick for us.

"I wasn't in charge when the reverse fixture was played but by all accounts they came to Nethermoor and gave us a bit of a stuffing.

"We are a lot stronger and more organised now so I think we will do well if we are professional about it."
