Two new signings have breezed into Nethermoor this week and Guiseley manager Steve Kittrick is hoping both will be available for Saturday's tough trip to Hednesford Town.

"We have signed Steve Smith from Stalybridge Celtic and Tom Greaves from Bridlington," said Kittrick.

"Steve has been training with Stalybridge for the last few weeks. He has spent nine months in rehab after cruciate ligament damage but Lilleshall have given him the all-clear and he wanted to come to Guiseley because it is a big club.

"Everyone in the area will know Tom after his time with Bradford Park Avenue. He is a good player and a proven scorer.

"We have irons in the fire and another couple of players may come in. But, I am not going to sign players for the sake of it, they have to be of a certain quality."

Guiseley have dropped to eighth spot in the UniBond Premier Division, three places above Hednesford, but have games in hand on many of their rivals. Because of postponements and cup games, Kittrick and his assistant Wayne Benn have had just four opportunities to bank points since taking over.

Former Bantams defender Sam Denton has been released and striker Marc Smith has moved on. Eastwood Town offered a fee for the big marksman and the Guiseley board have sanctioned the transfer.
