Dennis Wise is close to completing two more signings but also faces a fight to keep Leeds United's most valuable asset Jermaine Beckford.

With 15 goals under his belt, Beckford has been the key player in Leeds' challenge for promotion.

But inevitably that has brought interest from clubs in higher divisions. Former Leeds director Adam Pearson, now chairman at Derby County, is believed to have already tabled a £3m offer.

United issued a hands-off warning, saying: "Jermaine is part of the club's progress on the pitch and there's no reason why he can't reach his ambition of playing at the highest level at Leeds United."

Wise's decision to force Bradley Johnson into a quick decision seems to have paid off and the Northampton striker is due to sign tomorrow if he passes a medical.

The Leeds manager was concerned Johnson's agent was stalling in order to get interest from other clubs and issued a take-it-or-leave-it warning.

There was also good news for Wise from Walsall where one of his main targets, 21-year-old left back Daniel Fox, has turned down a new contract. With his current deal running out at the end of the season, Walsall might be forced to listen to offers for the former Everton trainee.

Wise will send Radostin Kishishev back to Leicester when his loan expires.

Kishishev, who impressed in a loan spell at Elland Road last season, has struggled with injuries this time.
