GUISELEY'S Rebecca Dunn claimed a whopping total of six medals in the two meets in Sunderland and Harrogate for City of Bradford Swimming Club.

Dunn claimed the gold in the 200m breaststroke up north before returning to Yorkshire to collect the rest of her medal haul.

The 15-year-old also gained top ten finishes in the 50m and 100m butterfly, 200m individual medley and 50m and 100m breaststroke in Tyne and Wear.

Abigail Naylor, 15, finished a very creditable third in the 50m freestyle and sixth in the 50m backstroke

Swimming in the 10/11 years age group was emerging talent Laura Temple, who competed in the 100m and 200m backstroke and 50m butterfly events.

Another potential star Ciara O’Carroll featured in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 100m breaststroke in the same age category.

Callum Mawson, 15, achieved three top 10 placements in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and 50m backstroke.

While, Jakub Marszewski, Pippa Bennett and Evelyn Gledhill, each had two top 10 finishes.

Bringing up the rear were Thea Barandia who claimed fifth place in the girls 14 years 50m breaststroke and Hollie Mawson who finished in tenth place in the girls 10/11 age group 100m freestyle.

At the Harrogate Swimming Club meet held at the Hydro there were more outstanding performances and gold medals at the grade A level for: Oscar Hobson (4), Ella Jones (3), Callum Mawson (2), Naylor (1), Evie Hobson (1), Jasmine Shay (1), Katie Wiles (1), Keira Hinchcliffe (1), Freddy Dean (1).

Hobson, 10, also claimed a speeding ticket in the 200m breaststroke in a time of 3.19.89.

At B grade level the following were on top of the podium: Olivia Tiffany (3), Tyler Bower (2), Hannah Carney (2), Luke Winterbottom (2), Josh Taylor (1), Mabel Walker (1), Jakub Marszewski (1), Emma Griffiths (1), Rose Lever (1), Amelia Fullerton (1), Megan Richmond (1), Imogen Tiffany (1) and Fraser Buxton (1).

In total City had a medal haul of 38 gold, 37 silver and 30 bronze medals and the one speeding ticket in North Yorkshire.

All of the above swimmers train with Leisure Services Aquatic Competition Programme under the guidance of coaches Andy Pearce and Sarah Fisher.
