JAMES Green intends to make the most of every minute of his Bulls “audition”.

The new capture from Castleford dives straight into the thick of the promotion race at Hunslet tomorrow.

The South Leeds Stadium clash kicks off a 10-game run that will shape the destiny of both the club – and the forward who has arrived in the swap deal with Reiss Butterworth.

Plans are already in place for Green to make the move permanent when his Tigers contract runs out at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has to impress John Kear to seal the deal – and is keen to start that job straight from the off.

Green has found opportunities tough to come by at Cas this year. He has made just four appearances for the Super League club while playing seven games in the Championship with Halifax.

So he is itching to nail down a spot in the Bulls pack to show his worth once more.

Green said: “I’m over the moon. I’m just happy to be able to play regular rugby.

“I’ve been averaging about a game a month being dual-reg and 18th man playing for Cas.

“I’m just looking forward to a solid block of 10 weeks to be able to get my head down and show what I can do.

“The facilities here are some of the best I have trained in. I know all the lads have worked so hard to get this club in the position it is and I will do exactly that.

“It is a different challenge to what I have been used to at Castleford. But you can see what the club is trying to create and to be part off that is something very special.

“I have not experienced League One rugby. But no matter what division you are in, all you can focus on is pulling the shirt on and giving your all.”

Kear believes Green will install some “biff and bash” down the middle as the Bulls campaign reaches critical point. With back-to-back games against Hunslet and York, it will be no easy introduction for the experienced capture.

Kear said: “James is an established prop forward who has played at some good clubs.

“He will add something to us, especially when you realise the immediacy is Hunslet away and York at home. To have someone of his calibre coming in is really important.”

It has been a good week for Bulls relations with Castleford after Callum Bustin sorted out his future at Odsal by signing until the end of next season.

Green is hoping he can do the business to soon follow and put down some roots for 2019 in the Championship.

“I want to help get this club where it needs to be,” he added. “The fans are still turning up in huge numbers, which is credit to them.

“Hunslet will be a big challenge first up but hopefully I can slot straight in. I have a lot to prove.”
