EXPERIENCED opener Richard Gould hit his second century of the season to propel The All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League Championship Two leaders Keighley to a

12-run win over lowly Spen Victoria.

Gould hit a six and 15 fours while making exactly 100 to help his side to a total of 21-4 which included 40 from Nathan Storton.

Spen made a spirited 200-8, but any hopes of challenging Keighley’s score were undone by in-form Paul Quinlan (5-34).

Spen are just one point ahead of last-placed Liversedge who suffered a 40-run defeat by Carlton. In-form youngster Daniel Ford continued his run of good scores with 51 in Carlton’s 207-7.

Liversedge skipper Graham Winn made a determined 70 while Will Atkin chipped in with 43 not out in a total of 167. Liam Morris was the pick of Carlton’as bowlers with 4-38.

Second-placed Wakefield St Michael’s defeated the East Ardsley side who pipped them for the Conference title last season by 80 runs

Opener Mark Atkinson played the lead role with a superb knock of 132. A six and 18 fours flowed from his bat as St Michael’s built a total of 288-4.

Ayaz Seedat (55) joined Atkinson to add 120 for the third wicket while James Cooper continued the good work with 56 not out.

Ashley Pearson took 3-81 for East Ardsley who were dismissed for 208.

Opener Gary Jennings (38) and tail-ender Ashley Chapman (40) were their top scorers as Ismail Patel (3-35) and Juned Delair (3-45) helped St Michael’s bowl out their rivals for 208.

The battle between third and fourth went the way of Birstall as they defeated Brighouse by 107 runs. Ryan Gray was Birstall’s match winner with 6-38 as they dismissed their opponents for 100, Ian Carradice led the way with the bat for Birstall. He hit 79 in a total of 207-9 despite Amrik Singh taking 4-60.

An opening stand of 135 between Hussain(88) and skipper Farakh Hussain (66) was the trigger for Bowling Old Lane’s 294-8 as they defeated Northowram Fields by 96 runs. Dru Patel (66) and John Lister (45) battled hard but Northowram Fields were bowled out for 198.

Craig Wood and Tom Glover were the key figures in Altofts’ 48-run win over Buttershaw St Paul’s. Wood top scored with 50 in Altofts’ score of 172 while Glover took 4-29 as St Paul’s were dismissed for 124. His figures were overshadowed by Amar Ayoub who took 5-49 for the losing side.
