CITY have been drawn away to newly-promoted Macclesfield Town in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
It will be the first trip to Moss Rose since a 1-0 defeat in October 2011 during the season in which the Silkmen dropped out of the Football League.
Under the guidance of John Askey, Macclesfield won the National League title this year to end their six-season stay back in non-league.
Like City, they are currently in the hunt for a new boss after Askey – who had been linked with the vacant head coach role at the Bantams – was appointed Shrewsbury manager.
Leeds United have been drawn at home to Phil Parkinson's Bolton Wanderers.
Ties are scheduled to be staged in the week commencing August 13.
