BRADFORD Bulls have repeated their 2017 Women’s Super League Grand Final victory over Featherstone Rovers.

The Bulls, who won last season’s showpiece game 36-6, triumphed again over Fev, this time launching the Summer Bash in Blackpool with a 46-22 win on Saturday.

The highlight of what was a second straight Women’s Super League victory for the defending champions and Challenge Cup winners was a 90-metre effort from Chrissi Nettleton, who used the full width of the pitch in scoring her stunning try.

The game was another landmark moment for women’s rugby league in what was the curtain raiser for two days of entertainment at Bloomfield Road.

It wasn’t a good day either for Fev’s men’s team, who lost 24-18 to Halifax in a thriller after Halifax had led 14-0 at half-time courtesy of tries by Scott Murrell and Steve Tyrer.

Rovers bagged three quickfire tries in the second half but were undone by late efforts from Ben Johnston and Murrell.

Sheffield Eagles beat Barrow Raiders 38-22 but there was evening excitement as Toronto Wolfpack pipped Leigh Centurions 28-26.

Toronto scored three tries in the final 20 minutes to triumph and increase their lead at the top of the Betfred Championship table to seven points.

Cory Paterson crashed over with four minutes to go, with Ryan Brierley converting to put the Canadian franchise ahead for the first time in the match, although Ben Reynolds missed a penalty kick on the buzzer that would have tied things up.
