GRAHAM Alexander has been appointed new boss at promoted Salford City.
The former Scunthorpe boss was among the bookies' contenders for the vacant Bantams hot seat but can be ruled out after joining the National League North champions.
Alexander will link up with assistant Chris Lucketti at the helm following the departure last week of joint managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley.
Alexander said: "During my first meeting with (sporting director) Chris Casper and then later with (part-owner) Gary Neville, I was immediately impressed by the scale of the ambition this club and the owners have.
"It has made rapid progress over the last four years and I am delighted they have asked myself and Chris to spearhead the next stage of the club’s development."
