SOMETHING has surely got to give at the Keepmoat Stadium tonight.

Between them, Doncaster and City have mustered just two wins in 21 league games in 2018.

The Bantams are still looking for a first success since New Year’s Day; Rovers’ 3-0 victory over Fleetwood last month was their only one since the end of December.

Doncaster have drawn seven of those but are drifting towards the relegation dog-fight – something boss Darren Ferguson is keen to play down.

“I will not be mentioning it to the players about looking over their shoulders,” he said. “I think you have just got to be focused, get the blinkers on and take each game as it comes.

"I think one of the reasons we are where we are is that we have had too many draws at home. That is the big thing for me.”

Ferguson wants to put that right against City but is wary of the impact Simon Grayson could make in the short term.

He added: “Bradford made a change. They have been on a hell of a bad run in the league and got knocked out by Yeovil and unfortunately in the next cup draw, they get Manchester United. Things like that don't help.

"A club legend had to be let go in Stuart (McCall) and they bring in Simon, who has got fantastic experience and a lot of success in League One.

“He has to hit the ground running because he has only got to the end of the season, as far as I know.

“I went to the Wigan game and it was very close. They have got a competitive team with a good mix of experience and youth.

"You would say that their main striker in terms of a threat won't be playing with (Charlie) Wyke being suspended.

“But Simon is a very experienced manager and they have some very experienced players and it will be a tough game and a bit of a derby as they will bring a good support.”
