THE semi-finalists in this season's Priestley Cup on Sunday, July 30 will be New Farnley, Farsley, Methley and Undercliffe.

New Farnley, who ended Hanging Heaton's hopes of a league and cup double with a four-wicket win, will be at home to Championship One outfit Undercliffe, who bowled out Morley for just 65 as they raced to an eight-wicket victory.

Farsley, who defeated Pudsey St Lawrence by 67 runs to keep their own double bid on track, will be at home to the other surviving Championship One side after Methley made over 300 on their way to a 102-run success against Birstall.

One of the unusual features of the third round was the fact that the day's two century-makers both ended up on the losing side. Gary Fellows made an unbeaten 115 for Hanging Heaton and Eric Austin scored 105 not out for Birstall.

Richard Foster (31) was the only batsman to back up Fellows as Dave McCallum (3-40) and Dave Cummings (3-67) fought to restrict Hanging Heaton to 229-8.

Openers Simon Lambert (63) and Sweden captain Mitch O'Connor (35) launched the New Farnley reply with a stand of 73. Skipper Lee Goddard, who led East Bierley to Priestley Cup glory in 2012, maintained the tempo with 41 before Nick Walker (30no) saw them over the line with 11 balls to spare.

Farsley won their battle with Pudsey St Lawrence after making a challenging 226-7 and dismissing their neighbours for 159.

Dan Hodgson continued his good form with 52 and was backed up by Ryan Cooper (35) and Greg Pickles (30) as Richie Lamb took 3-52 for Saints.

Last year's beaten finalists bowed out of the competition despite the efforts of kipper James Smith (50) and Adam Waite (33).

Spinner Adam Ahmed was the most successful bowler with 3-38 but off-spinner Mark Harrison was the most economical with 2-25 from his ten overs.

If you wanted runs then Methley was the place to be as the hosts posted an imposing 324-4 and Birstall boosted the match aggregate to 546 with 222-8.

Methley openers Muhammed Akhlaq (78) and Marcus Walmsley (50) set the tone with a partnership of 122. Former Woodlands duo Jordan Laban (65) and Grant Soames (60no) carried on the good work as Birstall's bowlers toiled.

One man who did not let the size of the challenge facing Birstall trouble him was Austin. His century contained 16 fours but he lacked the sort of support needed to worry Methley.

Undercliffe were the first side into the semi-finals as opening bowlers Zeeshan Qasim (5-25) and Craig Wiseman (4-26) rushed out Morley in just 22.5 overs.

Overseas player Anas Mahboob was unbeaten on 46 when Undercliffe passed their meagre target of 65.
