BRIGHOUSE Town ended their FA Premier League Northern Division One campaign on a high note
before their outstanding unbeaten run came to an end in a 3-0 defeat to Bradford City in the West Riding County FA Women's Cup final.
Annabelle Cass, Town's player of the match in the final, was one of several players missing for the final league game at Blackpool Wren Rovers but, in a game much closer than the score suggests, goals from Nikki Swift, Chloe Dean, Emily Starkie and substitute Charlotte Proud secured a 4-1 win for Rob Mitchell's side.
A top-six place was assured before that game but Town have high hopes to see their late season form carry over into next term.
In the same division Guiseley Vixens wrapped up their season in comfortable fashion when they completed a 3-0 win at home to Crewe Alexandra with goals from Sarah Danby, Chantelle O'Hara and Liv Thackray.
Though long since crowned champions, the Vixens finished their season a massive 15 points ahead of nearest rivals Hull City.
Having been relegated at the first attempt following their 2015 promotion to the league's premier Northern Division they have come back even stronger and will be hoping to make a better show in the top flight next season.
Following hard on the heels of Brighouse Town's rise to prominence on the women's football scene, Farsley Celtic start next season in the Premier Division of the North East Regional League.
Farsley won promotion from the West Riding Women's League in 2014 and finished third, then second, before claiming the North East Regional League Southern Division title by nine points this season.
In their final game they went to East Yorkshire side Malet Lambert and emerged winners of a ten-goal thriller with goals from Olivia Auker (2), sub Shirley Murphy (2), Chelsea Schofield and Demi Godson.
