Silsden manager Paul Schofield is keen to add several more friendlies to the three which have already been pencilled in.

The North West Counties top tier side have the added complication of having to confer with their landlords Keighley Cougars before finalising any pre-season matches.

The first game so far in the diary is on Wednesday, July 18 at home to UniBond Division One North outfit Harrogate, who have agreed to play the fixture at Silsden's pitch in the village rather that Cougar Park.

The other games confirmed so far are at Cammell Laird on July 21 and Pontefract Collieries in the first week of August.

Schofield said: "The three games are not set in stone but we are 90 per cent certain that they will go ahead.

"They are the ones pencilled in and we want to add maybe three or four more. Everything is still flexible at the moment but we have to sort things out very soon because the players are back in training the week after next!"

Schofield cannot believe how quickly the new campaign is coming round the corner.

"We think this game has stretched to ten months of the year now," added.

"It seems like there has been no break this year. The first game of our new season is on August 11 and that will be on us before we know it."

The manager is hoping to build on a very soild start to his first year in charge of the Cobbydalers.

He said:"We have released none of the players who were in the squad last season so we hope to have them all back with us.

"I also expect a few new faces after having talks with players keen to come along and join us.

"Player-wise nothing is secure until it all kicks off with the first league game. We will take nothing for granted but I hope we will have a strong squad that has the ability to mount a challenge."
