FILIPE Morais believes Stuart McCall has performed miracles to propel City to such a fast start.

The Bantams have yet to lose in League One since McCall returned to the club during a summer of dramatic change.

Morais is full of praise for how well the City boss has put together a squad currently well placed in third.

The winger said: "Without going into detail, the manager has done wonders.

"Pre-season was kind of all over the place with the way it was pulled together. Some lads went into the season having not played a full 90 minutes, so how we've made the start we've had is just amazing."

Tuesday's comeback win over Fleetwood, which ended a run of five straight draws, kept City within three points of leaders Scunthorpe after ten games.

Yet despite the fast start, Morais insists there is still room for improvement.

"We've got a block to build on now and I think there's so much more to come from us," he said.

"I just see the potential every day in training. We play differently now and it's more pleasing on the eye with passing and moving.

"But it's all about winning and that's why getting those three points was so important. If we hadn't won again, it could have become something that people are thinking about.

"You could sense it with the crowd but there's a steely determination within us. You don't get wins like that for no reason.

"I remember a few years ago when we were picking up a lot of draws and people were scoring against us late on. There was an edginess in the crowd.

"But they were brilliant singing right to the end on Tuesday because they could see we were so determined to get the three points."

Morais was recalled to the starting line-up for the first time in the league since the opening day. His only other full game had come in the Checkatrade Trophy against Stoke under-23s.

He made up for lost time by scoring the equaliser just before half-time to begin City's fightback.

Morais admitted: "It's horrible when you're out of the team. I got the thigh injury and had to wait eight or nine games.

"It's not just a mental battle but also about confidence – you're confident when you're playing or scoring a goal but if you're not involved, you have to drive yourself on.

"I'm delighted with every minute I get on the pitch because I love this club. I love being here.

"It was a great feeling to score but my performance could be better. There's a lot more to come from me but you'll only get that with game time.

"Look at all the lads who have been playing regularly and you can see they've grown over three or four games.

"But the manager knows his stuff very clearly and I've got total respect for him. So whatever he decides, I'll just show a good attitude and get on with it."
