THERE'S no stopping Halifax Direct at the A Division summit as they brushed aside Dales Council League title challengers New Wortley by six wickets.

Munawar Chariwala struck 75 as Direct easily chased down New Wortley's 135 to establish a 40-point cushion over their opponents at the head of the section.

Bradford Moor also slipped up as they lost by 17 runs to mid-table Woodhouse, leaving them now 38 points adrift of the leaders in second place.

Woodhouse totalled 213-8 thanks to Imran Mirza (56) and Imran Malik (51) before bowling out Moor for 196, despite the best efforts of Amraze Mahmood (77no).

Thornbury are fourth, a single point back from New Wortley among the chasing pack, after overhauling Cookridge's 152 (Rob Ford 58) by five wickets.

Bottom side Drighlington were bowled out for 163 as Harcharan Seehra took 5-10 for Leeds Sikh, before Seehra (55no) and Manish Parimoo (50) wrapped up a six-wicket victory.

The section's most straightforward success went to Farnley Hill, who passed second-bottom Pudsey Congs' 90 without losing a wicket.

Crompark leapfrogged Savile Stars into second place in B Division after beating them by four wickets, having bowled out their opponents for 141.

This left Caribbean eight points clear at the top as Wesley Bell (57) led them to a five-wicket verdict over Adel, who had earlier posted 179-6 thanks to Adam Fahy-Majeed's unbeaten 75.

The mid-table contest between Baildon and Leeds Sikh B was a high-scoring affair, with century-maker Mohammed Zulfikar unfortunate to finish on the losing side.

Zulfikar made 105, supported by Ayaz Ali (86), as Baildon accumulated 226-4 – but Wasim Ahmed responded with an undefeated 124 as Leeds Sikh won by eight wickets.

Bottom side Shipley Providence claimed only their third win of the season as they were led to 189 by Matthew Skelton's 90, Ian Brear taking 5-63, before dismissing Pudsey St Lawrence for 124.

Second-bottom Cookridge B were also winners, for only the fourth time, as they sent Thornbury B packing for 100 to successfully defend a modest 131.

Farsley and Halifax Direct B are level on points at the top of C Division after beating Caribbean B and Shipley Providence respectively.

Providence were bowled out for 114, Majid Hussain claiming 7-22, before Direct B knocked off the target for the loss of five wickets.

Meanwhile, Ryan Blackburn's unbeaten 89 ensured Farsley cruised to a ten-wicket victory after dismissing Caribbean for 138.

Drighlington B ran up 175 before bowling out ten-man Cookridge C for 132, while third-placed Morley's promotion ambitions were set back by their match against Great Horton Park Chapel being abandoned with no play.
