NOT even the threat of bad weather could prevent runaway Championship B leaders Townville storming to their 17th win in 18 All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League games this season.

Townville bowled out Hartshead Moor for 101, with Jack Hughes taking 3-19, and stormed to a nine-wicket victory in just 8.5 overs.

Big-hitting Conor Harvey, promoted to opener, smashed three sixes and eight fours as he made 55 from 22 balls, while Jonathan Booth made an unbeaten 45 which took his tally of league runs to 879 – the highest in all the divisions.

All-rounder Marcus Walmsley was again in outstanding form for third-placed Methley as they recorded a six-wicket win over Altofts.

Walmsley took 5-25 as Altofts were bowled out for 180 and followed up with 67 as Methley cruised to their target, skipper Grant Soames finishing unbeaten on 36.

Bankfoot and Bowling Old Lane were the division's only other winners, Bankfoot beating Brighouse by eight wickets while Old Lane overcame Spen Victoria by 48 runs.

Indian spinner Marupuri Suresh took 5-23 and Kamran Siddique 3-13 as Brighouse were dismissed for 108, Mohammed Zahid their top scorer with 37.

Bankfoot sped to victory in 12.1 overs as Nahim Ashraf led the way with 54, opener Shoukat Ali chipping in with an unbeaten 33.

Adal Islam showed no mercy for his old Spen Victoria colleagues by taking 5-57 as he helped Old Lane bowl out their opponents for exactly 100.

Sadaqat Zaman (43no) and Ahsan Butt (37) had been the key figures in Old Lane's 148, the best of the Spen bowlers being Liam Grant (3-27) and Alex Leadbeater (3-35).

Ashley Mackereth was dismissed just short of a century as he made 97 in Hopton Mills' score of 214 during their abandoned game with Carlton.

Louren Steenkamp (35) and Umar Abbas (34) helped swell the score against some good bowling from spinner Will Smith (5-67) and Colin Theron (3-45).

Smith was also in form with the bat and made 62 as he and Chris Wynd (42) helped their side to 170-5 before rain wrecked the possibility of a good finish. Steenkamp took 4-33 for Mills.

It was a pity that a match that featured two centuries should be denied a fitting finish by the weather but that happened as Gomersal hosted Wrenthorpe.

Jonathan Boynton made a stunning 144 in Gomersal's imposing total of 293-5 and Luke Patel was unbeaten on 103 in his Wrenthorpe side's 215-4 when play was cut short.

Boynton struck four sixes and 19 fours and shared a third-wicket alliance of 154 with skipper Graham Hilton (84).

Patel, who stroked 16 fours, was then joined in an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 118 by James Glynn (53no).
