BRADFORD Dudley Hill moved back into the National Conference League Division Two play-off places with a hard fought 22-16 victory at home to the Saddleworth Rangers.

Saddleworth only came across the Pennines with 16 players, but put in a valiant effort with Damian Smith was the star of the show for the home side as he ran in a hat-trick of tries.

Further efforts came through Neil Wall and Lewis Evans as Dudley Hill emerged victorious despite Simon Sewell converting only one of his five efforts on goal.

In the Yorkshire Men’s League Premier Division, West Bowling remained second in the table with a 19-30 triumph away at the Mirfield Stags.

An injury hit Stags side were good value in the game, but Bowling did enough in the second half to make sure they returned home with the points.

Jake Green scored a brace of tries with Liam Coe, Danny Gregory and Rob Young also finding a way over the line for Glenn Barraclough and his side.

West Bowling now has a weekend off ahead of the visit of Siddal Academy with tomorrow’s scheduled fixture away at Illingworth postponed.

In Division One, Wibsey Warriors returned to action after a week off, but remain bottom of the table after a 30-16 defeat away at the Batley Boys.

The result means Batley Boys leapfrog Queensbury into second, who after a week off this weekend return to action tomorrow with the visit of Bentley. The Warriors meanwhile hosted Kings Cross Park yesterday evening.

In Division Two, both Keighley Albion and Bradford Victoria Rangers found themselves without games despite originally being scheduled to face Allerton Bywater and York Locomotive away respectively.

Both sides are out on the road tomorrow afternoon with Albion making the relatively short trip to face Ossett Trinity, and Rangers heading to the coast to face the Scarborough Pirates.

And finally in Division Five, Odsal Sedbergh remained top of the table as they ran riot on the road to chalk up a 4-74 victory away at the Wetherby Bulldogs to maintain their impressive 100 per cent record.

Sedbergh will be looking to make it nine wins from nine in Division Five tomorrow afternoon when the Greetland All Rounders are the visitors to Cleckheaton Road.
