KEIGHLEY Cricket Club staged a worthy top-of-the-table clash between Keighley RZM and Bhalot Strikers in the Premier Section of the Quaid-e-Azam League.

RZM won the toss and posted 203, with contributions from Gulsheraz Ahmed (74) and Yasir Ahmed (49).

Strikers had the luck on their side but it still wasn’t enough as they fell 16 runs short.

Onq had a six-wicket win over Flix, Kez Ahmed (4-16), Fahid Rehman (61), Luke Patel (47) and Cosmond Walters (45no) doing well for the victors, but TABS are still looking for their first win, this time going down by 32 runs to Rising Stars, for whom Suleman Sayeed (61no) and Ahmed Ali (61) shone with the bat in their 236-8.

This shook up the relegation fight as Flix are now ninth.

Rajas beat Whiterose by five wickets, while Heaton Park dismissed Kashmir Dewsbury for 56 in just 14 overs, Mohammed Shoaib (4-1) mopping up the tail in less than two overs after they had made the day's highest total of 238-5, inspired by Shoukat Ali (120) and Sam Porter (50).

In Section A Group One, the fight for promotion remains very tight, with Bradford Moor, Darulshafa, Karmand and Diamond, who all won, are within two points of each other.

Leaders Moor, for whom Bilal Ejaz made 102, chased down Shaheen's 240 to triumph by four wickets, while Darulshafa won by an identical margin, despite only needing 83 to defeat Bradford Royals.

Karmand won by 89 runs against Bhalot, while Diamond defeated Central Leeds by nine wickets after outstanding bowling from Mohammed Pandor (4-38) and Adam Zahid (4-20) restricted Leeds to 113.

Friends were chasing 242 but still defeated Chach by three wickets.

Group Two remains a two-horse race between leaders Earlmarshall and Mylahore, who both triumphed.

Third-placed Punjab also won, against Yorkshire Lions by 82 runs, while Al-Minarah moved up to fourth, swapping places with Indus Ghari, who they defeated by 86 runs after Harris Hussain made 64.

Patriots lost against Azad by 59 runs, despite 85 from Ammar Syed.
