KYEL Reid has been backed to rediscover his "dynamic" ways after being reassured over the state of his knee.

The on-loan winger has looked subdued in recent games because he was concerned about the old injury.

But there were welcome signs of a return to form when he came off the bench in the comeback win over Fleetwood.

Reid had another injection in the knee on Monday and did not join in training at the start of the week.

But he will be all right for the clash at leaders Burton on Saturday and Phil Parkinson expects to see the same impact player on the wing again.

"He's had the injection to calm down the inflammation and now we're really looking for Reidy to push on again," said Parkinson.

"I had a good chat with him last week about getting back to his dynamic best. The specialist is confident there is nothing sinister going on in his knee.

"I just felt that in previous weeks he had let the problem affect him. Reidy's been a player who has had the knee issue on his mind too much.

"Saturday was pleasing because that's how we know Reidy can play. He looked more like his old self."

Reid's knee had flared up because of the effects of training on different artificial surfaces. City have been forced to go elsewhere to practice with their regular pitch still out of action since the floods.

Given his history and the serious cruciate injury which suddenly cut short his first spell at Valley Parade, Parkinson could sense the doubts were creeping into Reid's play.

"I don't think Reidy has been the same player because of that but there were good signs when he came on in the Fleetwood game," said the Bantams boss.

"He's missed a few days of training to allow everything to settle down. That's not a problem now and we're looking forward to seeing Reidy back at his best."

Reece Burke is eyeing a possible return at the Pirelli Stadium after his Achilles injury and hamstring victim Billy Clarke is not expected to miss too much action.

Parkinson said: "Reece is progressing really well and has got an outside chance for the weekend.

"Billy won't be out for long, so we've got players coming back. Lee Evans is available again after Saturday when his suspension is finished."
