BRADFORD Council Parks and Recreation department's decision on Thursday to postpone any football on their pitches this weekend proved to be the correct one.

While it only affected Tyersal and Salts, the frost on Thursday night into Friday, followed by Friday's rain and overnight frost into Saturday caused the postponement of all but two games in the County Amateur League.

Of the two games that were played, Dudley Hill Rangers moved back into second place in Division One with a 4-1 home victory at East Bierley over Bradford Horton Sports.

Liam Carroll scored a hat-trick and Roman Zurek was also on target for Rangers, while Paul Andrews netted a consolation from the penalty spot for Sports.

Wakefield City dropped from second to third after letting a 1-0 half-time advantage slip to draw 1-1 at Westbrook YMCA, with Tom Benbow equalising for YMCA after Tom Benbow had scored for the visitors.

Golcar United Reserves' West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy third round game at home to Whitkirk Wanderers Reserves was postponed for a second time.

A third attempt will be made on Saturday, which will involve the rearrangement of some fixtures. All changes will be advised to the clubs and match officials as soon as possible, and changes will be published in Friday's Telegraph & Argus.
