FARSLEY have welcomed back defender Michael Aspin and assistant manager Mark Jackson feels his return will boost the club's revival.

The Throstle Nest outfit have rejoined the Division One North promotion candidates after a blip that saw them lose back-to-back Evo-Stik League games towards the end of last month.

They also exited the FA Trophy but are still battling on two knockout fronts after progressing in the League Cup and the West Riding County Cup.

Jackson said: "Every team will have a dodgy spell but the good teams, the ones that will be up there at the end of the season, will be the ones that come out of these runs quickest.

"We spoke about that in the dressing room with the lads after those two defeats. We have got a young team and you can get inconsistency – but we have got a lot of energy and we are harnessing that.

"We have got a couple of more experienced lads bringing the young ones on. We have Michael (Aspin) back and he is ideal for that with his background in the game.

"He was here a few years ago when the old Farsley Celtic were in the Conference North. He is very good not just on the pitch but in the dressing room and with the lads in training.

"The kind of experience he brings is invaluable and it was good for us to get him back, especially with us losing Aaron Hardy now that he needs a hip operation.

"Michael is ideal because he knows the club, he knows Pars (manager Neil Parsley) and he knows the way we operate."

Meanwhile, Farsley's performance analyst John Jenkins has moved on after accepting a role with sports data company Opta.
