Alex Lees and Kane Williamson notched unbeaten fifties during the third morning at Scarborough to help Yorkshire seize control of their LV= County Championship match against Middlesex.
The unbroken second-wicket pair, who came together with the score at 14-1 last night, advanced the lunchtime score to 146-1 from 44 overs, so Yorkshire headed into the afternoon session with an overall lead of 167.
Lees reached his half-century off 111 balls and Williamson, who is chasing his maiden ton in White Rose colours, got his shortly afterwards off 83. They were set to resume on 66 and 62 respectively.
