Thackley will have to turn the form book on its head on Saturday to move further away from the danger zone in the Northern Counties East Premier Division.
They visit second-placed Mickleover Sports but will go there with confidence following Tuesday's 1-0 win over Armthorpe, which saw skipper Craig Sugden make his comeback.
"We defended well and created a lot in a hard-fought win in very difficult conditions," said Thackley chief John Boyle.
"It did help with Sugy being back, he makes a massive difference to our side. With about 15 minutes to go against Armthorpe he looked like he was struggling but he had just taken a little knock.
"He ran it off and finished very strongly and will be ready to face Mickleover."
