Silsden have become the first of the local semi-professional clubs out of the blocks as they returned to pre-season training this week.

The Cobbydalers wanted an early start to get their players ready for the next North West Counties League Premier Division campaign.

Manager Andy Geary oversaw the first training session at Keighley Road but is easing his young squad back into things by putting them through their paces on just two midweek days initially before adding Saturdays to the schedule.

The club held their presentation night over the close season and Danny Gleave picked up the player of the year award.

Gleave's central defensive partner Danny Fagan was nominated by his peers, collecting the players' player award.

The managers' player of the year was Andy Hill, while special thanks were extended by the club on the night to tireless volunteers Ryan Haigh and Kevin Knappy for their continued efforts.
