Six games reached a finish as players braved the elements in the latest round of rain-hit Bradford Evening League fixtures.

The performance of the day came in Division Two at Cambing, where Freddie Pearson made a half-century in Keighley’s impressive 165-2 and then took four wickets to dismiss the hosts for 90.

Wibsey Park Chapel made it two wins out of two as they successfully chased down Oakworth’s 81-5, skipper Chris Brown (28no) seeing his team home with an over to spare.

James Sawyer (31) top-scored for Buttershaw St Paul’s, aided by overseas player Brad Neyland (24), as their side were dismissed for 101 (Dave Shaw 3-11).

Opponents Daisy Hill were then restricted to 73-5 despite the best efforts of opener Alex Wood (25no).

Indian Panthers posted 90-3 before Imran Khalid blitzed a rapid 50 to lead Shipley Providence home by nine wickets.

Salem Athletic bowlers Israr Ullah (3-28) and Mohammed Siraj (3-19) enjoyed the conditions as Smart Moves were bowled out for 77 (Asad Abbas 26) in Division One. Waheed Ur Rehman (36no) and Mohammed Iqbal (29no) then wrapped up a nine-wicket win in 11.1 overs.

The only other game to finish was at John Breare, where tight and consistent bowling – especially by Tom Simpson (3-23) – restricted Bingley Congs to 97-7. Openers Jamie Chapman (50no) and Will Brown (30) then laid the platform for the hosts’ nine-wicket success.

Shelf would have been glad that the rain ended Thornton’s charge, with Chris Ramsden (53no) and Josh Hutchinson (50no) regularly clearing the small boundary to leave their team well set at 177-4 off 12.1 overs.
