Bradford Bulls 0, St Helens 50

Luke Walsh provided the inspiration as St Helens destroyed the injury-crippled Bulls with consummate ease this afternoon.

Luke Gale, Brett Kearney, Manase Manuokafoa, Matty Blythe, Dale Ferguson, James Donaldson, Jamal Fakir and Oliver Roberts were all absent through injury.

And Saints made their class pay with a commanding display in both halves, with Aussie scrum-half Walsh at the heart of all their best moves.

Jon Wilkin opened the scoring in the 11th minute, Walsh added a second in the 28th minute and Jonny Lomax and Wilkin again crossed to make it 22-0 at the break.

Two tries shortly after the break, from Tommy Makinson and Adam Swift, were added to in the final quarter by Sia Soliola, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook and James Roby.

The result leaves the Bulls eight points behind third-bottom Wakefield with 12 rounds of the season gone.

Chev Walkerwill today return to Bradford Bulls action, as Francis Cummins' men go in search of a third straight victory.

St Helens provide the opposition this afternoon and head coach Cummins has been forced to reshuffle his line-up, with front-rower Manase Manuokafoa and half-back Luke Gale ruled out injured.

As a result, Danny Addy starts at stand-off, partnering Lee Gaskell in the halves.

Elliot Kear lines up at full-back, with Sam Wood, Adam Henry, Joe Arundel and Jamie Foster completing the backline.

Skipper Matt Diskin starts at hooker, with loanee Antonio Kaufusi and Adam Sidlow appearing alongside him in the front row.

Tom Olbison and Adrian Purtell line up in the second row and Jay Pitts features at loose forward.

Joining the returning Walker on the interchange bench are Alex Mellor, Adam O'Brien and Luke George – who missed last Sunday's triumph over Warrington Wolves.

Ahead of kick-off, the Bulls will be staging a two-minute tribute to those who tragically lost their lives - 29 years ago today - in the Bradford City fire.

Supporters will be invited to partake in a minute's silence, followed by a minute's applause, to mark the anniversary and pay respects to those who passed away and their families.

Well beaten in every department by a team with supposedly as many missing players as us. Out enthused from the start. With Wakefield winning it's almost an impossibility to escape relegation now, it's alarming how quickly the bubble of the last 2 weeks has burst. I've rarely experienced such a quiet atmosphere at Odsal too, it seems like resignation has replaced hope as the overall feeling amongst fans.

I don't agree changes need to be made.
Pulling off two wins in the scheme of things is ok.
but you need to compete week in week out.
you need the squad and the coaching staff to do so.

Admittedly we were very poor today, but we had 6 players missing plus 3loan players who had been at the club for only a couple of weeks. Added to the fact that we played with only 2 props against a Saints side that had lost only two superleague games this season.
Can't remember hearing "We will rock you" at the game today!
Frightening thought tht we will go up against the Giants with only one prop unless we get players back or in on loan.

Absolute garbage. We had no attack whatsoever, we stood and watched Walsh & Hohaia and let them run the show. We waited for them to run at us before we tackled them, when we got the ball we either coughed it up, played it with no dummy half or did 5 x 1 man drives followed by a useless kick. We managed to kick out on the full yet couldn't find touch on a penalty. We had a secret gameplan which unfortunately no one told the players about. We were poor in every sector and just gave up after the hour mark.
some drastic changes needed urgently. Needless to say not wasting my money going to Manchester next week to be a laughing stock

We had missing players, so did they. They had 5 (Roby, Walsh, Hohaia, Lomax and Soliola) class players, we didn't have any. I disagree with the "no effort" comments but nor do I see any hope after that. Do you need to be a quality player to have line speed in defence to get in the opponents face? We were so slow doing so. Do you need to be a quality player to be well-organised in attack? Again we were shambolic. Do you have to be a quality player to realise that with so few attacking options and a very strong wind at your back, you might be advised to go for some 40-20 kicks (we didn't try one). Do you have to be a quality player to run hard, fast and straight rather than laterally as too often we did? I simply have no confidence in FC who evidently failed to get any of these messages out. No, we wouldn't ever have won the game but the humiliation would have been lessened. I see no indication that he has much of a clue as a SL Coach - which he will not be next year. Marc Green, at least look like you're not just in it to recoup your loan and act decisively to, at least, make a fight of avoiding relegation.

In the bottom 2 on merit. Before it's all about the deducted 6 points but the table doesn't lie and it says Bulls points deduction or not are a bottom 2 side.
Less than 6.5k there today. With that turning up the club doesn't have the funds to bring in the players it needs. Result unfortunately is relegation as the club can't afford to gamble on survival.

On paper we have a set of players that should be mid table at least, as shown by the previous two wins. Today however we were lacking any form of game plan in both attack and defence against a team that were also missing players so there is no excuse for a 50 nil score line.

I am afraid that we need to get rid of the coaching staff as it is clearly not working; FC has carried the sympathy of the off field activities and poor performance has been put down to that but now?

He is out of his depth; we could not even resort to plan B as we did not even have a plan A.

Come on Green, grow some and literally take the Bulls by the Horn; you wanted the Club now do something with it!

we had no structure on attack or defence. The players try hard but new coaching ideas are needed asap. As many have stated we did have players missing and we don't have many top players, but a decent coach could get so much more from the players available.

Just look at what Powell has done with Castleford, a team very similar to us, but playing as a team with good structures when attacking and defending. Our guys are having to make it up on the spot. They should know when its the last tackle who is going to kick and where he is going to kick it to. Saints, Wigan, Leeds, Hudds, Castleford etc all know. Its not just down to quality of players its mainly down to good coaching and practice. Its also one of the reasons why Salford are so disappointing quality players but poor coaching.

As regards 6,500 that's not bad in this day and age. There's teams playing far better than us who don't attract many more. The sport as a whole is on a downward spiral and losing the Bulls and London and going with just 12 full time clubs isn't going to help matters. The RFL will wake up and realise they can't afford to alienate its supporters, like me, but it will be far too late.

You aren't able to judge that are you?
It's very difficult to offer a judgement when the Bulls have a squad of 28 to Saints 37. We didn't have regular half backs , they had. We were short of Props they had 4.
They are number 2 in the table. They have experienced internationals in the squad, we have 1 (Wales).,
So stop your gloating, I can take criticism from a true Bulls supporter, but not from someone who is not a supporter, but a critic who likes to state what we all knew at the final whistle. We were well and truly beaten by a good team who are not short of Players and have no money problems.

What money problems? Green had to prove funds to get the Club so we cannot use that excuse any more - unless he is another Khan and is bluffing his case?

Sadly just ot good enough because we are not overed in vital areas s n props spare & no half backs spare.
Small squad , not experienced enough coach, and minus-6 points means we will go down.
On this prformance we would still be in the bottom 2 anyway.
Time for action so that when we go on w can come back straight away.
1. New coach
2. More players
3. Finance to fund the above.
4. I believe te 6000 core fans will stay with the club and so there is at least a base to work from

The points gained by other clubs means the win to loss ratio over the remaining games is increasing and clearly affecting players. To have been beaten by Saints is not a shock but to be nilled, at home, is. It is no use being a Jekyll and Hyde team and whilst survival is a mathematical probability every player should be playing to achieve that outcome. Even with the 6 points back, our position would not alter yet this was a side that had expectations of a top eight finish. I think Mr Ferris needs another chat with the players before relegation becomes a certainty long before the end of the season. Escape from the Championship will not be as straightforward as some seem to think and "rebuilding" could take years and years. If the players cannot raise their game then the supporters will follow suit. Beating Huddersfield, next week, is vital.

What a joke of a club you really are.
and just what odds did the bookies give you on Saints beating the Bulls that you can go on a drinking spree? You'd have been lucky to win £1 on a £10 bet. Had you also put £10 on Catalans and Warrington as you predicted both would also win, you'd now be £30 down to win £1. You really are a genius!

I don't expect you to tell me what odds you got, I'm still waiting for Oswald777 to get back to me on how much he bet the Bulls wouldn't win another game.

If you really do spend your days in betting shops and Wetherspons it might explain why your're such a sad weirdo

Read the last para. again? I never said anything about what you were implying in your rebuttal.
It says:
We were well and truly beaten by a good team who are not short of Players and have no money problems.
Where does it say what you seem to use as your argument, I am stating a fact not a reason?

If you are going to comment get it right first!

Youve made my day. To think he works and pays taxes to help keep me and other Bulls fans in retirement is brilliant. When I go to bed tonight the keyboard warrior will be in the middle of a night shift, now that is sweet. I bet he will have a name change now!! how about Mr Molecule!!
