In last week’s members’ match at Pilley’s, W Barker ran out an easy winner with six tench weighing 12lb 2oz, 2 E Harrison 3lb 3oz, 3 D Stephenson 2lb 2oz. The draw for tomorrow’s open match on the canal at Rodley is at 9am by the bridge. Carp are being caught at Pilley’s on a variety of baits and are now responding to surface tactics. Roach are showing signs of getting ready to spawn. A reminder that the only permitted baits on the river until June 16 are worm, fly, minnow and artificials.
The next club match is on Sunday, May 18 at Eldwick reservoir. To book on contact Tony on 07971-428678. Pegs are limited for this venue so book on early. Members are reminded that the top limit of the Beckfoot Lane stretch is where it meets the grounds of the first private residence. Members are not allowed to fish upstream of this point and on no account should they leave the river bank through private gardens.
