Adam Lyth’s ninth first-class hundred has helped Yorkshire continue their dominance over champions Durham during today’s first day at Emirates Durham.
The left-handed opener has enjoyed an excellent start to the season, although his unbeaten 104 represents his first ton of the campaign.
He and Kane Williamson have shared an unbroken 176 for the second wicket after the visitors fell to 29-1 this morning, leaving them superbly placed at 205-1 from 64 overs at tea.
Lyth was dropped on 13 in the slips off a no ball and again on 88, this time by Scott Borthwick at second slip off Mark Wood, before reaching three figures off 171 balls with 15 fours.
Just 20 minutes earlier, Williamson had reached his fifty off 170 balls. He will resume this evening on 68.
