Odsal Sedbergh saved the best for last with a thrilling finish to their Pennine League campaign as they beat promoted Division One rivals Brotherton Bulldogs.

Sedbergh secured a stunning 16-14 victory over the Knottingley outfit thanks to a last-minute penalty goal from Luke Dawson.

Odsal trailed 14-4 at the break with only a Shaquille Jones try to show for their efforts and, playing uphill in the second half, a turnaround looked highly unlikely.

But tries from Shaun Flynn and Oliver Priestley drew the scores level and it was that spectacular Dawson penalty that won the game when, from 30 yards out, the composed centre made no mistake.
