BRADFORD CITY AA

The fine weather, plus the imminent end of the river coarse fishing season, has brought many anglers out on both rivers and club still waters. Fish are beginning to show well and some good nets are being reported. The last day of the coarse fishing season on rivers is tomorrow and the season will not open again until June 16. However, fishing will continue on the club’s lakes and ponds. If 2013 members have not already done so, they now have just two weeks to renew membership for this year. After March 31 they will have to pay the joining fee of £15 again, even if they were 2013 members. New members are also welcome. Details of costs and information about BCAA fishing can be found on the club’s website at www.bradfordcityaa.co.uk, or by phone from membership secretary Jim Munden (07940-814431). Members may join or renew at agents, by post or via the link on the BCAA website to our online shop. Both committee and other BCAA members continue to be busy. The club hope to agree two new fisheries at today’s committee meeting and to announce these to members shortly afterwards. A work party is planned at Shipton Lake this Sunday. Any members who can spare a couple of hours to help should call Munden on 07940-814431 for details. The club will also be netting Staveley lakes for a stock count and fish-scale sampling next week to assess how well fish are thriving in the lakes and to inform five-year fishery management and stocking plans. The next BCAA match is at Staveley Lakes this Sunday and places are still available if anyone wishes to fish. Call Rod Brooksbank (07875-275749) or Steve Fox (0770-8260004) for details.
