Lee Miller’s overhead kick sent City spinning to a costly defeat at chilly Carlisle tonight.
Miller reacted superbly to settle the game with a 14th-minute strike after the Bantams failed to clear away a corner from James Berrett.
Defeat stretched the winless run to 13 games since November. While City remain in 13th, the gap to the bottom four has been cut again to five points.
Adam Reach, City’s best player, forced a good save in the first half but Carlisle should have doubled their lead when David Amoo broke away at the start of the second.
James Hanson missed a good chance to level when he failed to make proper contact with Garry Thompson’s cross. But they could not find a way through Carlisle, who saw it out to end a run of six defeats in seven.
Home fans whistling for referee to whistle... he has!

Andy Gray on for Hanson, who has had a poor game
Back-to-back corners from the Bantams but Carlisle hold firm.
Changes from both sides. Bennett for Thompson and Drennan for Redmond

Jones forces a save from Pickford with another 25-yarder
Carlisle make their first change of the night as Amoo makes way for Sam Byrne

Carlisle starting to get edgy. That's wishful thinking!!
City need to get Reach on the ball more and running at Chimbonda, who's on a booking
Decent cross from Thompson but just too high for Hanson by penalty spot.
Reach, City's best player on the night, creates space for Jones to have another pop. But his shot hits Mclean and deflects away

Looks like Nathan Doyle will be on for the second half.
Nothing comes of it and that's the break. Carlisle lead 1-0 and it's not very good

Hanson's head and Reach's big boot clear up the corner...
McArdle slices clearance behind under pressure from Amoo
Now it's a Carlisle corner as the snow suddenly stops .... McLaughlin claims with confidence
And here comes the snow....
Carlisle deal with it and the Jones cross back into the box. Mclean attempts to do a Miller with an overhead - and misses
Reach leads the response with a positive run to force a corner
Thundering woomp as Potts strikes a volley at the other end. It's not as impressive as the sound as the ball flies well over
Jones tries a snap volley from 25 yards but there's no repeat of his Crewe crackers here as it bounces through to Pickford.
Reach and then Jones down on floor. Captain gets up heavily
Good finish but City were their own worst enemies there. Hanson and Davies went for the same header
So once again City have conceded first....
City fail to clear their lines from Berrett's corner. Had couple of chances to clear it but didn't and MILLER punished them with a superb overhead from close range...

Rory McArdle returns to City's defence after recovering from his cut eye.
The Northern Ireland international replaces Carl McHugh, who had a torrid afternoon against Crewe.
The other change from Saturday sees native Cumbrian Garry Thompson come in for Kyle Bennett, presumably to offer a bit more solidity on the right of midfield.
Nathan Doyle, back from his suspension, is on the bench. Raffaele De Vita misses out - he is still not 100 per cent over his thigh injury.
CITY: McLaughlin, Darby, McArdle, Davies, Bates, Thompson, Dolan, Jones, Reach, Mclean, Hanson. Subs: Gray, McBurnie, Doyle, Bennett, McHugh, Atkinson, Jameson.

Brings back memories of the JPT trip here in Stuart McCall's last season when Simon Ramsden lost his head and City lost 3-0. Haven't won here since 1985, although there haven't been too many visits since.
I'm going for a 2-1 win Stephen Darby to get the winner #stephendarbybaby #bcafc— @elliotwillough3 11 February 2014
Rory McArdle is here with the squad. No team news just yet but can't imagine he's been brought up to Cumbria for the fun of it.
Good evening and welcome from a very cold Brunton Park. We've had sleet and snow flurries but it's dry for now - the forecast says another blast around 8pm.
