Bradford City rule out David Syers return

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: David Syers had been linked with a return to City David Syers had been linked with a return to City

David Syers will not be making a return to Valley Parade.

Rumours suggested the Doncaster midfielder could be on his way back to City.

Rovers brought him back a week early from a successful loan at Scunthorpe, where Syers scored five goals in 15 appearances. He is out of contract at the end of the season.

But Phil Parkinson stressed today that the 26-year-old was not on City's radar.

League Two leaders Scunthorpe are still keen to land him on a permanent basis.

Good player and on the face of it just the type of player we need, but as we know he's not the man for Parkinson which imo is still a bit of a mystery.

Yes, PP does seem to "cold shoulder" certain members of the playing staff. This applies, not just to the players he inherited, but also those that he's even signed. Conversely, he does show an amazing amount of patience with some under performing regulars.

I think that many people (myself included) assumed that it was due to a derisory contract offer. However, I do not have any facts and so it is down to guess work.

How can an attacking midfielder of Syers calibre not be on PPs radar?? Isnt he exactly the type of player weve been so obviously missing since well since PP let him go!!!!!!!!!! oh and due to his unbelievably bad man management nearly ruined the career of one of the brightest talents seen at VP for a long time.Syers wouldnt touch city with a bargepole now, good luck to him whoever he signs for.
on a different note im led to believe Darby is likely to sign for brighton in few days and that middlesborough will bid for both hanson and wells with a strikercoming our way as part of the deal. This will force sunderland to act quickly and offer good money for wells.

In other words, like all the other 91 managers. You obviously have not watched football for very long or have any idea what goes on at all the other clubs. Setting aside your knowledge gap, has it ever crossed your mind why a particular manager might like a particular player?

Yes, you said City missed Syers all last season didn't you? You never let it rest. Even at Wembley in May you were moaning about the team needing a Syers. Oh and you are on the 'ruining someones career' chesnut. I mean why not? And bad management, well you have repeatedly said that all the City managers have been bad. They are all bad in your eyes aren't they? And you talk about a bargepole. Anyone else likely to leave the club do you think? Are you leaving?

reason he left parky treated him bad ,not playing him when he was are best player at time ,then i think his contract was coming to end and kept him waiting without saying his contract would be renewed ,why would he want to come back and play under a manager who has no respect for his players, the man thinks he can just try wreck players careers ,other players must of heard how he treats them and think why would they sign, its a pity as syers would of been just what we needed

Syers was never coming back, he's a very good 2nd division player but we can do better. If we go to Doncaster for a midfielder it'll be Dean Furman.

People are saying PArky is short sighted in his scouting by recruiting his old team players.. yet half the fans here are just as short sighted..

Lets try sign players we've already had playing for us and either didnt make a permanent move or didnt want to stay for one reason or another.

I was told by a very good source Parky did not like Syers because he got in the opposition box to often!

Having watched the way we have set up since DS departure its evidence enough to suggest that my source was correct.

So I would not expect us to be signing a box to box/goal scoring midfielder under Parky, unless he has had a change of heart about playing with 2 holding cm's.
