Bradford City hopeful on Wells injury

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Nahki Wells receives attention during Sunday's game Nahki Wells receives attention during Sunday's game

City are hopeful that Nahki Wells' hamstring injury is not serious.

The top scorer was taken off in the first half of yesterday's 1-1 draw with Swindon.

He is a big doubt for the New Year's Day trip to Notts County but boss Phil Parkinson is optimistic about the extent of the problem.

Parkinson said: "It's still a bit early to assess the injury but it doesn't appear too bad. We'll know more when it's settled down a bit tomorrow."

Ricky Ravenhill (knee) should be okay for Wednesday but Nathan Doyle is suffering with a tight groin.

I have huge respect for John Hendrie, Chris Kamara etc. etc. not forgeting Wethers and Gunnar. As a Bantam fan I'm not 'respecting' your ideas on this one. With the greatest 'respect' seeing as though word is being used, I don't think yours is a very intelligent attitude. Sorry to disappoint you on that one.

We have had a magnificent year. Whilst we have to be happy with the progress and I agree with the sentiment ... the Championship within the next few seasons would be fantastic and to be competitive we need attacking verve.

I have been watching City since the early 1980s and the dynamism of Hendrie, Ellis, Campbell, McCall and the rest was about the best we have been at Valley Parade. Also with the Mills, Blake and Beagrie team fired on by Lawrence, McCall and Co.

So this could be a third strong era in the last thirty years, if we can keep our best players and build upon Hanson, Wells, Reid and the team - with some more attacking and passing ability going forward.

A happy end to the year - let’s hope that the progress continues in 2014 and we have more prosperity and good times at City ...
