Farsley face a crucial home game against long-term rivals Lancaster City at Throstle Nest on Saturday.

Back-to-back victories in Evo-Stik Division One North consolidated Farsley’s fourth place in the table.

Both they and Lancaster are in the play-off zone but are being hunted down by Darlington 1883.

Farsley manager Neil Parsley said: “Last Saturday was a good one for us because we won away and, considering the other results, it was a very important victory.

"Salford (who the Villagers beat 4-2) are not having the best season but it’s a difficult place to go at any time.

“Any maximum on the road is decent in this league because it is a tough one. It was our sixth away win and we only had about seven or eight in the whole of last season, so that is another positive.

"Now we have Lancaster, who are up there with us, coming to Throstle Nest, so it will be another tough game.”

Parsley is hoping some of his walking wounded will have recovered as they have not played since the weekend.

Parsley said: “We have had a free midweek, which we were glad of. We trained Tuesday and Thursday but we also broke things up a little.

"We have had some analysis done on some of our games and we showed clips to the players and spoke about how we can do things a little better and improve in certain areas.”
